The DEF Header helps keep the SCR system supplied and operating correctly. Besides measuring the level of Diesel Exhaust Fluid (DEF), it can also monitor temperature and fluid quality, while some models support tank heating through engine coolant.
A failing sensor can cause false readings, warning messages, unexpected stops and engine derating. Temperature-related faults may also disrupt DEF operation and lead to further SCR system issues.
The DEF Header has a critical function for the SCR-system, and it's proper installation as well as fit and performance is vital to reduce the risk of costly downtime.
