Based on sensor input, the DEF pump draws the precise amount of fluid needed for optimal NOx reduction and sends it to the injector. To protect the system from contamination, the pump includes a built-in DEF filter that shields both the injector and the SCR system from impurities.
One of the most common causes of pump failure is crystallization and clogging—often the result of DEF contamination, poor storage conditions, or low-quality fluid.
